Another busy Sunday

Posted the parent album design to my web site for Stuart & Karen to approve. Karen replied very quickly that they were great so I just need to prepare the files for printing by the lab.

Lunch at John & Ida’s in Pontypridd, roast beef, apple pie and custard.

Had a telephone call from my mum this evening, she couldn’t turn off the cold water tap on the hand basin in the bathroom, I popped over there and turned off the valve on the supply to the tap, I’ll need to change the tap washer tomorrow.

A dark Friday

BT’s broadband system failed this afternoon, apparently right across the UK, fortunately it was only out for an hour or so.

Very sad to hear the news that Patrick Lichield died today, he was a great ambassador for photography.

A mixed Thursday

My telephone line appears to be working again although BT’s fault tracking web page is still showing the fault as waiting to be allocated to an engineer.

Had a browse around Comet and bought a Linksys PAP2-UV to connect to Vonage for a subscription of £9.99 a month all local and national calls to the UK and Ireland are free, with mobile calls between 5p/min at weekends, 15p/min evenings and 20p/min daytime and very low rates on international calls. It has voicemail, conference calls, caller display, call waiting, call diversion and uses any standard touch tone phone(s). It connects to the broadband router and doesn’t require any installation – a piece of cake! It means we have a second telephone line at a fraction of the cost of an additional BT line. Call quality is excellent as well.

A dry Wednesday

A day spent entering up my accounts.

Our telephone line is out of service, a large BT fault affecting quite a large number of subscribers on our local telephone exchange, fortunately my broadband connection is still working. BT have also provide an automatic call diversion to my mobile as the telephone line has failed.

Welsh lesson this evening at the local rugby club, couldn’t use the lounge tonight as the heavy rain yesterday came through the roof and destroyed the carpets and caused a great deal of damage.

A wickedly wet Tuesday

Spent some more time working on the car, managed to get hot air out of the heater and then cold air 🙁 difficult to take it to the garage for them to look at in its current condition!

Received the e-commerce merchant agreement from Streamline another step closer to upgrading my on-line shopping cart.

A mainly dry Sunday

Mainly dry, except when I was working on the car. 🙂

Cleared the air lock in the heater by disconnecting the heater hose from one of the heater valves and pouring coolant in through a funnel until it poured out of the heater valve. The heater now works and the engine isn’t overheating.

I’m planning on moving the on-line shopping cart on my website from PayPal to SECPay as a number of people have complained about the process PayPal makes them go through for high value purchases. I’ve written the new SECPay integration page for the shopping cart and testing with SECPay is going well. I’m just waiting for Streamline to send me the e-commerce agreement forms and complete their processes.

Finished a number of orders received from my web site for posting tomorrow.

A very wet Friday

Collected the new radiator for the BMW. Removed the old radiator and fitted the new one. The engine is now overheating nicely, a common problem with BMWs after working on the cooling system, you get an air lock in the heater which is the highest point in the cooling system. Why BMW fit the air bleed valve on the radiator which isn’t the highest point is a mystery!

Elaine and Andrew called in to collect their wedding album, they loved the Jorgensen Wessex Album with metal cover and gave me a lovely thank you card for the way I photographed their wedding – I was really chuffed!
