Lovely weather for spring

It’s certainly been very wet and windy recently.

Last night I helped my son Paul move his things out of his old house, he’s hoping to move into his new place soon.

I’ve just upgraded my blog software and it seems to be a very good improvement over the previous version with a host of new features.

It certainly was wet and windy last night.

St David’s Day and wearing a daffodil again. πŸ™‚

I started a Certificate of Education course this morning, it’s going to be a busy weekend with all the homework from both my current courses. πŸ™

It’s been a bright and sunny day today but the wind is now starting to build up once again and it’s getting overcast.

Congratulations to David and Hannah

Once again I haven’t posted for some time!

My son David became engaged to Hannah on Valentines day, and they called in last night to show me the engagement ring. πŸ™‚

I’ve recently been playing with my old Olympus E20 camera, hard to believe that many years ago it was the first digital camera that I used for weddings to master the transition from medium format. The cameras that I’ve used since then are so much faster with a major leap in image quality, pixel count and usability but the Olympus at a mere 5 mega pixels is still quite a capable performer. These two snaps were captured as jpeg images (the Olympus is even slower capturing in RAW format) using the in-built pop up flash. The images have just had a quick adjustment for colour balance, contrast and saturation in Photoshop using the iCorrect Edit Lab Pro plug in and then saved for web. Quite strange once again doing image tweaking in Photoshop as professionally I’ve been using Lightroom for some time. I still use the Olympus now and again as a walk about camera when I want something with a little more control than my point and shoot Fuji F11 which seems to live permanently in my pocket and is a very capable snap shot camera.
Here’s a picture of David and Hannah’s new puppy taken last night.

And here’s a picture of Tiegan taken a couple of weeks ago.

My mum had a new sofa and chair delivered yesterday so I called over to see them this morning, they’re in dark brown leather and look very nice, the leather is also very soft and comfortable. Another trip over there in the morning as the tap in the hand basin in her bathroom is stiff but I didn’t have any tools with me this morning.

A busy month so far

It’s been some time since I last posted.

January is generally the quietest month of the year apart from customers booking us for their weddings, however we’ve also been very busy this month working on album designs, customer orders and commercial photography.

My son David has recently moved into a flat in Cardiff with his girlfriend Hannah.

I’m currently offering a new year special offer on a complete wedding package which has proven to be very popular. I’ve also been using the recently updated version of JAD, the Jorgensen Album Design software which has a few new enhancements. There have also been a few minor improvements to the latest release of Lightroom which is used for raw file conversion and image correction, I’m hoping that network support will be added in the next version which would mean we could access the library from any of our networked computers rather than having individual libraries stored on each machine.

Happy New Year.

The past year has been very busy, we’ve introduced a number of improvements and changes to our work flow the most significant change being the implementation of Adobe Lightroom for processing raw files and we’ve also introduced a number of new modern albums to our extensive range that have been very popular. We’ve made a number of changes to our web site and also upgraded our secure payment processing to incorporate changes to implement Verified by Visa and MasterCard Secure to maintain the highest level of protection for our on-line customers.

A cold and frosty Monday

The district nurse called again today to dress my wound, she seems a little happier with it today. πŸ™‚

My mum drove me to LDS and I bought a new water pump for the BMW, we then called in at the plumbers merchant and bought a new waste outlet for the kitchen sink. I fixed the kitchen sink so no more leaks. πŸ™‚ The BMW went off to the garage and is now fixed. πŸ™‚

A cold Saturday

Another visit from the district nurse this morning to change my dressings, they’re still not very pleased with the state of the wound but managed to get some packing into it today, we’ll have to see how things progress with the antibiotics.

Linda and Samantha called around this evening.
