A cold wet Thursday with a little snow

Visited PC World and bought a DVI cable for my Eizo monitor, a Belkin USB 2 high speed hub (it worked first time) and a Belkin Wirless G high speed USB adapter (struggling to get this one working), I’ve contacted Belkin European Support as there are problems with the installation and when it works it disappears from the system. So far every Belkin product installation (except the hub) hasn’t been straightforward but their technical support is very good!

A little snow this evening, it will be interesting to see what the weather is like tomorrow.

Geraint and Rachel are planning on coming over tomorrow morning to pick up their wedding and parent albums, they live in Milton Keynes but are in Cardiff for the rugby international this weekend.

My right top wisdom tooth is causing me some discomfort this evening, could be a visit to the dentist coming soon!

A cold foggy Tuesday

Decided to upgrade the hard disk in my Sony Vaio notebook computer today. I created an image of the current 40 GB disk using DriveImage and restored the image to the new 80 GB hard drive. Unfortunately the new drive wouldn’t boot (don’t you just love it when a restore doesn’t work as it should!). Decided to use Paragon Hard Disk Manager to copy the contents of the old drive to the new drive, it worked very well but took many hours to perform the task! I guess a very slow method that works is better than a very fast method that doesn’t. πŸ™‚

Couldn’t do as much work on the remaining album designs as I’d hoped due to the notebook computer upgrade requiring so much manual intervention. πŸ™

Met with a lovely couple who are getting married at Cardiff City Hall next year.

A cold bright Monday

Lots of frost on the cars this morning, I was quite pleased to be working at home today.

Monday is usually my quiet day but I currently have so much work on that it’s a normal working day today! Maybe I’ll be able to take tomorrow off πŸ™‚

I’ve completed the integration of my on-line shopping cart with SECPay and it went live this afternoon. No more problems for my customers trying to make ‘large’ purchases using PayPal where they insist they go through a validation process which can take several days and no more strange email payment confirmations from PayPal where they’ve substituted the customer’s email address in the from field in place of the PayPal email address – that can be very confusing.

I’ve been working fairly solidly on album designs today and I’m beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

A cold bright Saturday

More work today on album designs, quite a bit more to do!

Andy Turner, a photographer friend pointed out that the RSS feeds for my blog weren’t working, after a bit of searching and tweaking I’ve fixed the problem πŸ™‚ – thanks Andy!

More progress with moving my on-line shopping cart to SECPay for secure payment processing, I received my e-merchant account details from Streamline this morning and completed the SECPay registration with those details. I’m currently using PayPal and I’m becoming increasingly frustrated with the payment notifications from them having the purchaser’s email address set in the from field rather than a PayPal email address!!

A quiet evening relaxing.

A dry cold Friday

The weather the last few days has turned decidedly colder with frost on the lawn in the mornings.

A fairly quiet day a trip to the bank to pay in cheques.

I’m currently working on a number of album designs for Jorgensen E series albums.

A mild Tuesday

Called over to see my mum this morning – no leaking taps!

Went with Paul to buy a new battery for his Toyota Surf and then fitted it in, he now has a truck that starts!

David has his car working again and called in this evening.

A bright Monday

Changed the washer in my mum’s bathroom tap.

Food shopping at Tesco in Talbot Green.

A new version of software for my on-line viewing gallery was released today and I’ve completed the integration and I’m on to the detailed testing. A few minor issues to resolve but it’s looking very good so far.
