A visit from the district nurse to start my day. David was here today sorting out the back garden. David and Hannah called in this evening.

A bright Friday
Daily visit from the district nurses, the rest of the day spent processing more orders and sending them off to the lab. Paul cycled up to see me this evening as his car is currently off the road. π
An overcast Thursday
The daily visit from the district nurses this morning – still hurts. π Processed a number of print orders and sent them to the lab.
A bright Wednesday
I’m still not able to do very much at the moment, morning visit from the district nurse – ouch! David called in this evening and hogged the computer.
A quiet Tuesday
A visit from the district nurses this morning to change my dressing which will be happening daily for a number of weeks. π We met with a really nice couple this evening who are planning their wedding for August this year.
Monday in hospital
I can eat again, I had a few rounds of toast and coffee for breakfast and apple pie and custard for lunch. Had my dressings changed (ouch!) and I’m now allowed home. My mum gave me a lift home from the hospital, it’s nice to be home again. π
Amy and Alistair called in this evening, as they’re just back from honeymoon, to collect their wedding pack (DVD slideshow and virtual album on CD). It was a lovely wedding at Bryngarw House.
Admitted to hospital!
A visit to the out of hours medical centre at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, followed by an assessment by one of the surgical team in A&E means I’m admitted to hospital with surgery scheduled for the evening! I’m not allowed any food or drink and I’m hooked up to a saline and glucose drip with the odd dose of antibiotic – no Sunday lunch today. π Taken to theatre at 11 p.m. and back on the ward at around half an hour after midnight. No chance of much sleep as I’m being regularly monitored.
A quiet Saturday
A quiet Saturday at home a fairly uneventful day.
A dry Friday
The insurance documents arrived for the Nissan Patrol, the local Post Office has run out of tax discs, so a drive to the Treforest Estate Post Office to tax it. An appointment with the doctor and a prescription for antibiotics but I may need an immediate referral to the local hospital if there isn’t a rapid improvement. Collected the Nissan Patrol and drove it home, I’ve previously owned a number of high spec Range Rovers and Discoveries and I wasn’t expecting the Patrol to be as good on road but I’ve been pleasantly surprised, it’s well behaved in traffic and cruises comfortably at 70 mph and is quite capable of going faster.
A quiet Thursday
I’m still waiting for the insurance documents for the Nissan Patrol to arrive in the post so I can tax it and collect it. I’m having a very annoying problem with the main pc, the latest updates from Symantec live update are causing severe problems with the status application continuously accessing the hard disk. It’s also then impossible to access any of the Norton applications. Booting from the Ghost 10 CD and restoring the C drive from the latest back up is the only solution. A selective update from Symantec live update, without selecting the program updates is working as an interim measure.
