Ian & Katie’s Wedding at Miskin Manor

On Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing Ian and Katie’s wedding at Miskin Manor, Katie’s dress was absolutely lovely. I have photographed many weddings at Miskin Manor and it is a lovely venue that offers a lot of variety for locations with lovely well managed grounds but unfortunately on Sunday the rain didn’t stop so we were unable to take any outdoor photographs. To record the group photographs I set up a small battery powered flash with an umbrella, mounted on a portable light stand with a little additional flash bounced off the ceiling from my on-camera unit balancing the flash and ambient exposures. This enabled me to take the group photographs without the distracting shadows that on-camera flash alone would have produced.

I think summer has arrived!

It’s been a very busy few weeks with quite a few weddings. The Nikon D2X took a tumble off the tripod at a recent wedding but fortunately Fixation managed to repair it and return it to me within a week so I had it back in time for the next wedding.

I’ve just returned from Norfolk where I had the pleasure of photographing Lee and Claire’s wedding at Weston Park. It was a lovely wedding and everything went without a problem. Claire, her family and friends stayed at the Lenwade Country House Hotel which was a great experience, my room was very nice but the hotel is like a maze so always a challenge to find the room again! The wedding ceremony and reception at Weston Park were wonderful and the rain stopped in the afternoon so we could photograph the groups outside.

Here are a couple of photographs of Lee and Claire:

Stuart and Rachel’s Wedding

Today we had the pleasure of photographing Stuart and Rachel’s wedding at St Barnabas Church in Penygraig. It was a lovely wedding but unfortunately the rain didn’t let up so there are very few outdoor photographs.

Here’s a photograph of the happy couple.

And here’s their terrific cake from Rhianydd Easton at Dragons and Daffodils.
