Rachel and Ross’s Wedding Rehearsal at All Saints Church Pen-Y-Fai

I don’t often attend wedding rehearsals but I always like to visit the wedding venue a few days before the ceremony. When I was invited to attend the rehearsal it was an excellent opportunity to combine a visit to the venue with meeting the minister, groom’s parents, best man and ushers in advance of the wedding.

The minister is terrific and is allowing photographs (preferably without flash) during the ceremony.

Fingers crossed for a fine day on Saturday.

I think summer has arrived!

It’s been a very busy few weeks with quite a few weddings. The Nikon D2X took a tumble off the tripod at a recent wedding but fortunately Fixation managed to repair it and return it to me within a week so I had it back in time for the next wedding.

I’ve just returned from Norfolk where I had the pleasure of photographing Lee and Claire’s wedding at Weston Park. It was a lovely wedding and everything went without a problem. Claire, her family and friends stayed at the Lenwade Country House Hotel which was a great experience, my room was very nice but the hotel is like a maze so always a challenge to find the room again! The wedding ceremony and reception at Weston Park were wonderful and the rain stopped in the afternoon so we could photograph the groups outside.

Here are a couple of photographs of Lee and Claire:

A busy few weeks

I’ve been very busy recently with quite a lot of commercial photography and personal injury assignments. There’s also been quite a lot of work to complete with the various courses I’m studying which has left very little spare time, luckily the courses come to an end before the busy wedding season.

Yesterday I went to Roath Park in Cardiff to take some photographs of Adam and Sally who are getting married next month. Adam and Sally are having a signing frame at their wedding and wanted a photograph of the two of them for the frame which will be replaced after the wedding with a photograph of them taken on the wedding day.

This is the image they’ve selected for their signing frame.

Is it really summer?

Met with Rachel and Stuart today to go over the final details of their wedding, we’re really looking forward to taking the photographs in a few weeks time, they’re such a lovely couple. Rachel’s dress sounds really great, can’t wait to see it and I’m sure their wedding cake will be terrific as it’s being made by Rhianydd Easton at Dragons & Daffodils.

The sun was shining this afternoon, it made a very welcome change from all the rain.

Paul and Stacy’s Wedding

A cold Tuesday

I had intended going to my Welsh class this morning, I’ve missed a number of weeks following my recent surgery, unfortunately Julie rang this morning to say that she’s unable to run the class today as she’s not feeling very well. 🙁

I spent the morning applying 3M repositionable pressure mount to a large number of photographs ready to mount them in the albums I’m currently working on. Perhaps one day someone will devise a mounting product that is easy to use, so far this time I’ve avoided cutting my fingers with the scalpel. 🙂

Jason called in this evening to collect the print order from his and Jennie’s wedding. Their Jorgensen wedding album is being delivered this week so their album should be ready at the end of the week. With a bit of luck I should have completed all the current album orders this week.

A cold Monday

Claire and I went to Newport this morning and travelled on the Newport Transporter Bridge it’s a superb way to travel over the river and a real snip at 50p each way. Here’s a photograph of Claire taking some photographs at the bridge.

We then had a walk around the grounds of Tredegar House and then to Cardiff for lunch at KFC followed by shopping at Tesco and a visit to Cefn Parc to take fresh flowers.

We all went to the Showcase Cinema this evening to watch The Hills Have Eyes it has some very good effects.
