A lovely wedding and the weather was fine. It was a delight to photograph and really enjoyable. Here are a few images, the full viewing gallery is available on my main web site.

A very wet wedding at Llandaff Cathedral
Today I assisted my friend Jen who was photographing the wedding of Harry and Liz at Llandaff Cathedral. The weather was very wet but fortunately the rain stopped for the group photographs outside the cathedral. It was a lovely wedding with the reception at the Museum in Cathays Park. I’m not going to post any images of the wedding but here is one of the interior of Llandaff Cathedral showing Jacob Epstein’s aluminium figure of Christ in Majesty suspended above the nave on a concrete arch designed by George Pace.

Happy New Year – Blwyddyn Newydd Dda i chi i gyd
I haven’t posted for a little while, decided to take a couple of weeks break over Christmas.
Upgraded the software on the main server just before Christmas following the rebuild after the mother board failure, it’s now running Suse Linux 10.2 and is performing very well. Following the upgrade to BT Total Broadband we’re getting much better download and upload speeds which certainly helps with uploading galleries to our web site and sending images to the lab for printing. I upgraded my blog software this morning to the latest version which was released a few hours ago, everything seems to be working well and a much smoother upgrade process than previous updates.
We’re quite busy again at the moment, it’s one of those times of the year when we’re handling a number of bookings for new weddings, I really enjoy meeting with new couples and finding out their plans for their special day.
I’ve also nearly competed my tax return so should be ready to submit it on-line next week ahead of the end of month cut off date, luckily my accounts are fully computerised so it’s largely a manual transfer of information from my accounts to the tax return with some manual calculations, fortunately the Tax Calc software carries out a check on the details entered and performs all those tedious tax calculations, it’s excellent value at around £20 for each new release and saves me several hours of work.
A wet and dreary Wednesday
An overcast and wet day. The roof and window blinds have been fitted in the conservatory and it makes a big difference to the light and temperature, just need a bright sunny day now to be able to properly judge the improvement.
Welsh class this evening, it’s proving difficult once again to get back into the swing of it following the long summer break but Julie is giving us plenty of practice speaking in various tenses and using all those tricky mutations that are a feature of the language.
Andrew dropped in their selection of images for their Jorgensen wedding album last night and I’ve been working on the initial album design, it’s taking shape very nicely.
A hot Wednesday
Stripped the remaining wallpaper from the living room ready to re-paint the walls.
Downloaded the latest version of Qimage, the software I use to prepare images for printing, quite a major upgrade with a new user interface, takes a little bit of getting used to but a very good improvement.
A dreary Sunday
Claire borrowed my Nikon D2X camera and went for a drive around the Brecon Beacons, she took some great images. We all went for lunch to John and Ida’s in Pontypridd.
A busy Saturday
I spent the day finishing the processing of the images from Mark and Laura’s wedding. I loaded their web gallery and they’re delighted with the photographs. FA cup final in Cardiff today 🙂
A very cold and windy Saturday
Replaced the ink cartridges on my Canon i9100 printer and realigned the print heads. The rest of the day was spent processing images.
