A very frosty morning

Back at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital this morning to see the consultant, the wound appears to be slightly infected so they’ve placed me on a further course of antibiotics. If it gets any worse they’ll take me back into theatre, if it heals then they plan on admitting me again in the new year after my follow up appointment for a further investigation under a general anaesthetic. πŸ™

Back home again

Visited the doctor last week and was put on antibiotics over the weekend but things were much worse by Monday so I was admitted again to Ward 7 at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and in theatre that evening. The staff on Ward 7 are really lovely. I was discharged on Tuesday afternoon and the district nurses are visiting each morning to dress the wound. The sister visited this morning and she isn’t happy with the wound so she may refer me back to the hospital depending on how things progress over the next few days. πŸ™

Blog Fixed!

Something must have gone wrong with the last upgrade to my blog software as I haven’t been able to write any posts since the upgrade last month! I finally had some free time this morning to re-download the upgrade files, FTP them to my server and repeat the upgrade process. Everything seems to be working and I can once again write posts. πŸ™‚

It’s been a busy month with lots of work on album designs, making up albums and print orders. This is a really busy time for album manufacturers and often low stocks and long delivery times reflect this.

I’m enjoying the new Welsh class, the pace is fairly brisk and it can be quite a struggle to keep up, there’s quite a lot of spoken work and homework twice a week so it’s quite intensive.

Claire and Lee stayed with us last weekend it was really nice to see them again.

Dosbarth Cymraeg

Es i Dosbarth Cymraeg bore yma.

Welsh classes started again this morning, once again struggling a little on numbers attending, we’ll have to wait and see what happens next week, hopefully a few more people will be there. A lot of changes this year now that the University of Glamorgan have taken over the administration of the courses, a new syllabus complete with new books. Only two more years to go to complete the course!

A very wet Thursday

I’ve been catching up with the folk podcast run by Ken Nicol (Steeleye Span) and Phil Widdows, I’m quite new to listening to podcasts (the term comes from an amalgamation of i-pod and broadcasts although you don’t need an i-pod), the folk podcast is produced monthly and is in essence a ‘radio’ programme accessible on the web, you can listen to it in Windows Media Player (or any other media player) or copy it to a personal MP3 player. You can access individual programmes directly from the folk podcast web site or install a free RSS Podcast Client (rather like a blog aggregator) which will keep you up to date with selected podcasts. I downloaded the free Juice software which seems to work very well.

The heavy rain and high winds have continued through the day and we also had a brief power cut.

I managed to complete the upgrade process for BT Total Broadband today by telephone, having failed to make it happen on-line on the BT website, both times I tried on their web site I received a confirmation page that stated the upgrade had been accepted but that was where the upgrade process ended! Fingers crossed that everything will be working next week.

A wet and windy Thursday

I took my Mum to the Royal Glamorgan Hospital this morning, she was convinced that she’d be there for a few hours so insisted that I didn’t wait and she’d phone when she needed a lift home. Three quarters of an hour later she rang to say she was ready. πŸ™‚

I received another delivery from Jorgensen today so it will be all systems go over the next few days to complete the remaining album orders. More fun with the 3M repositionable pressure mounting film. πŸ™
