Mobile Phone Upgrade

This week it was time to upgrade my phone contract as a data allowance of 10MB a month was a joke with the current BT contract!

The first decision was easy iPhone or not, well not for me thanks, I’ve used loads of Apple stuff over the years but my IT work started around the same time as Apple and while their stuff looks cool I still avoid them. Going iPhone the choices would have been so easy a 4 or a 5 but rejecting Apple opens up a lot of options.

First option Windows or not, well definitely not thanks, Bill’s company have caused me enough wasted time over the years. Blackberry, no thanks I don’t send the type of texts that benefit from encryption and I don’t wear a Burberry hat. Well it looks like it’s going to be Android then, well Google sadly already know more about me than my mother does and pretty much everything is already synced with them, guess it will be a Samsung Galaxy then 500 minutes, 5,000 texts and 1GB of data a month should do nicely and the phone is free, I’m still on O2 but no longer with BT and I’m saving money, happy for now.

Hopefully the fibre optic broadband upgrade will also go smoothly next week followed by the change of telephone line provider a little later.

A busy few weeks

I’ve been very busy recently with quite a lot of commercial photography and personal injury assignments. There’s also been quite a lot of work to complete with the various courses I’m studying which has left very little spare time, luckily the courses come to an end before the busy wedding season.

Yesterday I went to Roath Park in Cardiff to take some photographs of Adam and Sally who are getting married next month. Adam and Sally are having a signing frame at their wedding and wanted a photograph of the two of them for the frame which will be replaced after the wedding with a photograph of them taken on the wedding day.

This is the image they’ve selected for their signing frame.

A windy Wednesday

My BT Home Hub arrived yesterday, it’s a pretty naff looking device that is quite flimsy, the web based configuration software is not at all user friendly. The hub phone works very well though. One important thing with configuring the home hub is to locate the software CD and ensure it doesn’t go anywhere near the pc as all it does is load rather a lot of unnecessary software – fortunately I was aware of this before my hub arrived. In typical BT style the order tracking details on their web site shows that my hub is due to be despatched tomorrow for delivery the following day. Quite a few set up issues with the BT Home Hub mainly involving Windows networking. I think it’s all working at the moment.

Rachel was discharged from hospital today. 🙂
