A warm Thursday

I had a long relaxing soak in the bath this morning, since leaving hospital a few weeks ago I’ve had to shower daily rather than take a bath (no big deal as showering daily is my normal routine) but there’s something really nice about having a long soak in the bath.

I spent the morning processing orders from recent weddings and then I took my mum out for lunch. I spent the afternoon making up orders while the multitude of batteries were charging in readiness for tomorrow’s wedding.

A quiet evening (apart from the thunder!).

A thundery Wednesday

A visit to the district nurse and the site of my recent surgery has now healed which means that no further treatment is required. Unfortunately there is an additional problem that requires an immediate referral to my GP who has put me on a further course of antibiotics for two weeks but if there isn’t an improvement by Monday I’ll be going back to the Royal Glamorgan Hospital for further treatment. 🙁

Welsh class this evening. Very impressive thunderstorms tonight with both fork and sheet lightning.

A warm and sunny Sunday

I finished re-wiring the trailer socket on the Nissan Patrol this morning. I met Lisa (one of our brides from last year) at Tesco in Talbot Green this morning and then on to the Bridgend Classic Car Show at Pencoed. A very large selection of classic cars from vintage to modern at the show this year which is organised by the South Wales Classic Car Club and held at the Pencoed Agricultural College.

Here’s a photograph of the engine bay of an immaculate MGC roadster (I owned one myself for many years and it was a terrific car with bags of character).

And here’s a photograph of a Ferrari engine bay.

A drive around the coast, stopping at Southerndown before returning home for a relaxing evening.

A warm Thursday

My day started with the daily visit from the district nurse, I generally don’t see the same nurse two days running as the local pratice has a team of district nurses but Sarah called again today. I seem to be healing well after the surgery and they should be able to change the type of dressing soon. I had a long overdue haircut from Adrian in Taffs Well now that I’m able to get about again and called in to see my mum on the way back. I went to Celtic Tyres in Bridgend this afternoon to have the wheels balanced on the Nissan Patrol as my local tyre service were having problems getting a good balance yesterday. I met with Mark and Laura again this evening for their pre-wedding session, they’re getting married at the Manor House Hotel in Penarth in a couple of weeks.
